Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

This policy explains what personal data is collected when you subscribe to the Sophie Lavigne newsletter, why it is collected, and the rights you have over it. The short version: we only ask for your email address (and, optionally, your first name), we use it to send you the free story and occasional news about the books, we never sell or share it, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The Sophie Lavigne author brand is published by TAC Digital EURL (the “data controller”), a company registered in France — 31 avenue de Ségur, 75007 Paris, France. For any question about this policy or your data, you can write to sophie@sophielavigneauthor.com.

2. What we collect

  • Email address (required) — so we can send you the free prequel story and the newsletter.
  • First name (optional) — only to address emails to you personally.
  • Basic sign-up details — the page you subscribed from and the date you subscribed, used to send the welcome emails in the right order. We do not collect any other data.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the subscription form. We use it solely to send you the free story, a short welcome sequence, and occasional updates about new books, recipes, and releases. We do not use it for advertising profiling, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

4. Who processes your data

Emails are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, a French company), acting as our processor. Your data is stored on Brevo’s servers within the European Union. We share your data with no one else, and we never sell it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, it is removed from our active mailing list promptly.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email sophie@sophielavigneauthor.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, cnil.fr).

7. Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link in the footer. One click removes you from the list — no questions asked.

8. Cookies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Only the technical cookies strictly necessary to serve the pages may be set.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the latest version.
